Welcome.

Adams Funeral Home was established in 1926 by Cuyler Homer Adams.   The funeral home was located in the heart of downtown Dublin at 205 West Jackson Street.  C. Homer and Minnie Jane Sheffield Adams had four children. They were Cordie, Arthur Atys, and a daughter, Ruby.  C. Homer Adams wanted his children to have a stable career, so he decided to open a funeral home.  Mr. Cordie Adams was a State Board Member in 1928 when Georgia first started requiring a Funeral Director's license.  Cordie was the only one of the three boys that became licensed.  Cordie married Lois Vaughn in the late 1920's.  Cordie, his bothers, Arthur and Atys, Cordie's wife Lois and Cordie's sister Ruby, all worked in the funeral home.  In 1930, Cordie and Lois became proud parents to a baby boy, Gerald Cordie Adams.  In 1954, Gerald C. Adams earned his Funeral Director and Embalmer's License from the State of Georgia.  A few years later, he married Ellen Barron.  In 1957, the couple was blessed with a son, Gerald Cordie Adams, Jr.  After many years spent devoted to the citizens of Dublin and Laurens County, Gerald C. Adams, Sr. passed away in 2002. Adams Funeral Home continued to operate on West Jackson Street until 1948.  The current location at 605 Bellevue Avenue was a wood residential home from the early 1900's until 1948.  In 1916 the building was severly damaged by fire.  In 1948 during renovation, the wood was replaced with brick.  The brick came from the First National Bank of Macon's deconstruction.
